Carnauba, also called Brazil wax and palm wax, is a wax of the leaves of the palm Copernicia prunifera , a plant native to and grown only in the northeastern Brazilian states of Piauí, Ceará, Maranhão, Bahia, and Rio Grande do Norte. Also referred to as the "Tree of Life", local Brazilians use many of the trees' produce for various necessities. Although various Carnauba palms exist in other parts of South America, Africa and Ceylon, Carnauba wax is unique to the Brazilian palm, due to Brazil's irregular rainy seasons.
Melting Point: 80-86%
Carnauba wax is yellow in colour and is often applied to cosmetics as an emulsion stabiliser, as a thickener or stiffening agent in various cosmetics, as well as other uses such as polishing furniture and carvings.
