Natural hydrophilic layered silicates OPTIGEL products are bentonite products for cosmetics and personal care. They are used as thixotropic thickeners with excellent anti-settling and stabilizing properties in water-based systems. This is a none irradiated material.

Optigel CL
Magnesium Aluminum Silicate. Acts as a thixotropic agent. It is an activated white smectite product used in water-based systems with excellent anti-settling and stabilizing properties. It is purely inorganic and stable against diluted acids and bases. Gels produced also withstand oxidation or microbial degradation. It is compatible with anionic and non-ionic surfactants. It is hydrophilic in nature and easily wetted by water. Swells in cold water. Used in shampoos, shower gels, creams & lotions, face packs, topical suspensions, make-up, sunscreens, pressed powder cosmetics, hand cleaners and skin protection products.
Magnesium Aluminum Silicate (Bentonite can also be used as an alternative INCI name). Optigel® CL by Eckart acts as a gelling agent for water phases in cosmetic applications. It is also used as a thixotropic thickener with excellent anti-settling and stabilizing properties.
- It is an activated smectite and ultra-white product with high pH and temperature stability.
